As we prepare to embark on the next adventure, nothing serves as a better break between 2 weeks in Latin America and 2 weeks South East Asia like ATL’s concourse E TGIF, where we fondly bid farewell to our dear friends:
and say a quick hello for 24hrs to our other dear friends in ATL:
Having expended only ~15% of the total 56hrs flight time on this trip, the 16hr flight to Seoul and Korean Air’s 32° recline coach seat is a welcome sight to me, as I proceed to sleep longer than I have the past week combined… Michelle on the other hand, thankfully flies equipped with Dramamine. Maybe she didn’t get the memo back in Maiquetia?
At last we arrive in Seoul for a short stopover before hopping down to Indonesia. It was quite a time to be in this 25million strong metropolis, with Crazy Uncle Kim bantering about blowing up the world unless he gets some grain for his troops. Is that the green eyed monster bitter at not having the world’s nicest airport?
Ironically, our hotel the Rennaissance in Gangnam on Tehran St (We will never forget you Neda!) was this week also hosting the World Summit on Peace
But seriously, how can you compete with this?
After a long journey, needless to say we were ready for some good jap chae and bibim bap
Nothing quite works up the hunger like man-purses
Oh come on! It’s not like they are carrying around a fabulous new Nikon dSLR, this totally is not a purse! It’s not like I bought it here:
6hrs before flying out to Jakarta, just enough time to stop by the National University (which must have been out of session)
And the Namsol Hanok Village. What, too traditional?
Then back to the airport where Michelle discovered Bizeum, a delicious Korean pastry chain
Even the Colonel approves. Now how do I go about wearing my custom tailored white suit without looking like that?
Over a nice meal of bulgogi, this of course made me smile. Almost as much as my Nikon D60 telling Joris that “Subject is too dark”
